4 NIGHTS DUCKS INN to include Breakfast and 3 course evening meal by a Michelin Star Chef – John Paul McLachlan
COACH FOR 5 DAYS
4 ROUNDS – Tue, Wed, Thur, Fri

I am really excited to say that I have finalised this fantastic trip in June 2019 to play some outstanding links golf courses, with excellent evening food prepared by Michelin star chef – John Paul McLachlan. The courses and tee times are –

4th – GULLANE One 1st Tee 11.12am – Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish
Open and Ladies Scottish Open in 2018.
5th – DUNBAR 1st Tee 11.27am – Open qualifying championship course.
6th – CRAIGIELAW 1st Tee 10.30am – 2018 Senior Scottish Open
7th – GULLANE Three 1st Tee 9.36am – Some of the best views imaginable

I have included a mini coach hire which will pick up from Thetford Golf Club at 9.30am and then at Heydon Grange if required, and this will be with us for the duration of the stay to ferry us around whilst up there. I will also be hiring a transit van to carry all the clubs and electric trollies so there is plenty of room if you wish to bring them. The group size will be a MAXIMUM of 20 and places will be on a first come basis, with a deposit of £250pp to secure your place. (this amount is needed to secure tee times and hotel reservation as it’s a very busy time of year for them)

I will be running a competition over the 4 rounds with cash prizes for each day as well as overall winners, with daily bets also running. (entrance fee will be taken before each round)

Buggies are available at all courses and I will need to know if you require one upon booking, they cost £30 at all courses and payable once there. I have space in the transit if you wish to take your electric trolley, you just need to let me know upon booking.

Ducks Inn – John Paul has worked in Michelin star restaurants with
Raymond Blanc, Gordon Ramsay and Martin Wishart, as well as having his
own signature restaurant at with the MacDonald Hotel Group. He’s now the
Head Chef at Ducks. One of East Lothian’s best-loved retreats, Ducks Inn
is recognised as one of Scotlands Golf Coasts leading hotels with
gracious east coast hospitality, distinctive atmosphere and food beyond
compare.

Gullane 1 – Host venue for the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish
Open and Ladies Scottish Open in 2018. Carved into the ancient links
turf, pot bunkers, wispy grasses and smooth-running greens is a unique
challenge for the serious golfer. On the PGA Website , the course was
voted one of the Most Picturesque Golf Spots in 5th place in the World
in a list that includes Augusta National and Pebble Beach.

Dunbar – To play on our Open qualifying championship links is to play
within yards of waves as they crash onto the rocky shore. It is to pit
yourself against a course made by nature and then man’s best efforts
over 150 years. It is to walk in the footsteps of some of the greatest
golfers in the world.

Craigielaw – Host of the 2018 Senior Scottish Open and I have to say one
of the most beautiful links golf courses I have seen, this will be a
real pleasure to play.

Gullane 3 – Of all the courses at Gullane, No. 3 enjoys some of the best
views across Aberlady Bay to Edinburgh and the Firth of Forth beyond.

Ryder Cup style format

This trip is definitely for those of you of that like to have a competitive edge to a trip mixed with tuition.

This trip will have tuition laid on for those of you that wish to take advantage of it in the mornings, and then the Ryder Cup style game will follow after a coffee break, teeing off at 10am most days.

On the evening of the day that we arrive, we will make the draw in front of the group to see which team you will be on, with a maximum of only 12 golfers per team. Each evening both teams will announce the playing order to see who is playing against who, and on which course. During the week there will be one practice round, followed by four rounds of Ryder Cup style pairs matches over 18 holes and one singles game over 9 holes, which will determine the winners. The format for the games will be – Four ball better ball, foursomes, four ball better ball, foursomes, singles and each match will be worth 1 point.

Tuition – There will be time each day to have your any part of your game checked and tweaked and a full days advanced short game tuition in the middle of the week.
