The course does not offer electric trollies but do have buggies and I would need to know ASAP if you require one.
This is an ideal location for the time of year with temperatures of around 23 degrees, making this perfect for golf just as it was in February 2018.
For this trip I have priced up staying at the Elba Palace 5* as the course is on site and is only one of three, 5* hotels on the island.
This week will be all about how to – Shoot Lower Scores, and for that to happen you will be working on the key areas in your game, which are – Alignment, Driving and 80-50 yards and in, improve these and your scores WILL improve.
All tuition will commence before play and you will be split into two groups of 12. One group having the lesson 9-10am and the other group 10-11am.
Saturday 2nd – Fly out to Fuerteventura and if arrive in time play 9 holes.
Sunday 3rd – ALIGNMENT – I am going to make you work in pairs so that you can check each other constantly (and whilst playing), to make sure you are aimed correctly. I am going to give you a routine that IF, you stick to, then you will see an improvement in all your shots when playing.
Tee Off 18 holes from 11.04am – Texas Scramble which will allow you all to have your alignment check whilst out playing.
Monday 4th – Driving – Going to work on improving your impact position for this club which will help with distance and accuracy, can’t win a game from the trees!and extra distance is always welcomed.
Tee Off 18 holes from 12.10pm – Social game.
Tuesday 5th – Pitching – Here you will learn the correct set up and very simple technique that is required to make this part of your game stronger and a game changer.
Tee Off 18 holes from 11.04am – Greensomes, men partnering men and ladies with ladies. Again this will allow you to check each other’s ALIGNMENT.
Wednesday 6th – Chipping – A quick check on set up before going in landing zones. What they are, where they need to be, how much run you get etc. An understanding of landing zones will transform your chipping, giving you much more success from around the green.
Tee Off 18 holes from 11.30am – Social game.
Thursday 7th – Chipping – You will learn what the 7 Steps To Heavenly Chipping are, and in turn then be able to decide which is the correct way to play every chip. The ability to make a correct shot assessment is vital in playing a successful shot.
Tee Off 18 holes from 12.10apm – Texas Scramble, again another chance to have your alignment checked.
Friday 8th – Putting – We will focus and achieving a pure roll on the ball each time you strike a putt and pace control. Pace control is way more important than line when putting.
Tee Off 18 holes from 11.04am – Social game.
Saturday 9th – Flying home

4 NIGHTS DUCKS INN to include Breakfast and 3 course evening meal by a Michelin Star Chef – John Paul McLachlan
4 ROUNDS – Tue, Wed, Thur, Fri

I am really excited to say that I have finalised this fantastic trip in June 2019 to play some outstanding links golf courses, with excellent evening food prepared by Michelin star chef – John Paul McLachlan. The courses and tee times are –

4th – GULLANE One 1st Tee 11.12am – Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish
Open and Ladies Scottish Open in 2018.
5th – DUNBAR 1st Tee 11.27am – Open qualifying championship course.
6th – CRAIGIELAW 1st Tee 10.30am – 2018 Senior Scottish Open
7th – GULLANE Three 1st Tee 9.36am – Some of the best views imaginable

I have included a mini coach hire which will pick up from Thetford Golf Club at 9.30am and then at Heydon Grange if required, and this will be with us for the duration of the stay to ferry us around whilst up there. I will also be hiring a transit van to carry all the clubs and electric trollies so there is plenty of room if you wish to bring them. The group size will be a MAXIMUM of 20 and places will be on a first come basis, with a deposit of £250pp to secure your place. (this amount is needed to secure tee times and hotel reservation as it’s a very busy time of year for them)

I will be running a competition over the 4 rounds with cash prizes for each day as well as overall winners, with daily bets also running. (entrance fee will be taken before each round)

Buggies are available at all courses and I will need to know if you require one upon booking, they cost £30 at all courses and payable once there. I have space in the transit if you wish to take your electric trolley, you just need to let me know upon booking.

Ducks Inn – John Paul has worked in Michelin star restaurants with
Raymond Blanc, Gordon Ramsay and Martin Wishart, as well as having his
own signature restaurant at with the MacDonald Hotel Group. He’s now the
Head Chef at Ducks. One of East Lothian’s best-loved retreats, Ducks Inn
is recognised as one of Scotlands Golf Coasts leading hotels with
gracious east coast hospitality, distinctive atmosphere and food beyond

Gullane 1 – Host venue for the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish
Open and Ladies Scottish Open in 2018. Carved into the ancient links
turf, pot bunkers, wispy grasses and smooth-running greens is a unique
challenge for the serious golfer. On the PGA Website , the course was
voted one of the Most Picturesque Golf Spots in 5th place in the World
in a list that includes Augusta National and Pebble Beach.

Dunbar – To play on our Open qualifying championship links is to play
within yards of waves as they crash onto the rocky shore. It is to pit
yourself against a course made by nature and then man’s best efforts
over 150 years. It is to walk in the footsteps of some of the greatest
golfers in the world.

Craigielaw – Host of the 2018 Senior Scottish Open and I have to say one
of the most beautiful links golf courses I have seen, this will be a
real pleasure to play.

Gullane 3 – Of all the courses at Gullane, No. 3 enjoys some of the best
views across Aberlady Bay to Edinburgh and the Firth of Forth beyond.

Get your game ready for the season is what this week will be about as the main focus will be on – Driving, Pitching, Chipping and Putting (with a small look at bunkers). There will be morning tuition everyday where you will be split into two groups and then you will have a choice to play 18 holes or take more tuition in the afternoon between 2-4pm. The extra tuition can be decided on each day to what area of the game we cover. To help get your competitive edge up, there will also be a running stableford competition where your best two rounds of the week count, with a ladies and men’s winner (Optional), and a Texas scramble, or you can just play a social game every day.

I’ve wanted to come to this resort for a few years as the golf course is an amazing Jack Nicklaus design, and has hosted the Volvo Masters for 5 consecutive years, and the hotel is a beautiful 5* resort, but its practice facilities have let it down, or that was until now. They have just built an excellent short game area which will enable us to carry out some great work on your game, as well as a driving range for the longer shots. On the Sunday, I am going to try and organise a trip to the local Sherry vineyards for those that fancy a day off from the golf. (Extra cost)

Golfers do walk this course, but it is advisable to use a buggy so please let me know which you prefer to do upon booking. A £150pp deposit is required to secure your place.

This trip will have tuition laid on for those of you that wish to take advantage of it in the mornings, and then the Ryder Cup style game will follow after a coffee break, teeing off at 10am most days.

On the evening of the day that we arrive, we will make the draw in front of the group to see which team you will be on, with a maximum of only 12 golfers per team. During the week there will be one practice round, followed by four rounds of Ryder Cup style pairs matches over 18 holes and one singles game over 9 holes, which will determine the winners. The format for the games will be – Four ball better ball, foursomes, four ball better ball, foursomes, singles and each match will be worth 1 point.
